"I can't believe my sandals are gone!" Tara exasperated.

"Sweetie, that's okay... at least you have packed at least three pairs of shoes. Hopefully they would turn up later on." Ginger was trying to calm her friend.

"Yeah, you are right. Let's get back and I am hungry." Tara sighed, allowing Ginger take the lead back to their spot. Turning her head over her shoulder at the spot where she walked on the redhead and smiled ever so slight.

Meanwhile, Red returned to her bus and carefully laid the leather sandals with newfound respect on the floor of her bus. 'I still couldn't find her but I will find her if I have to cover every inch of this place.' Red thought with a resolve face. Grabbing a dry towel from her bag, rubbing her wet tresses then toss it over her shoulder and grabbed a hairbrush.

"Hey Red, up for some dope?" Razz asked, tying a thin clothed scarf around his forehead.

Making sure her hair was thoroughly brushed, Red nodded and moved back and put in her hairbrush back in the bag. While she was at it, she grabbed a few bags of munchies and some fruits that Ashley insisted that she bring them to the Woodstock. 'Come on, Red... You are so darn skinny so I brought you a case of assorted fruits and vegetables. I will see you there in a couple of days after u get there.' Red remembered her friend Ashley saying.

"Cat, eat this." Red was holding out a shiny red apple to Razz which he gladly took a bite.

"Man, that's good! You the chick!" Razz quickly finished the apple and even ate the core which didn't surprise Red since she does that herself.

Red smiled and tossed him a few more which Razz expertly caught them all. "You play basketball?"

"Nah, baseball, the first base." Razz responded, working on something unique. "Here you go, just put your mouth on this and I will light the bowl for you. But be careful when you inhale otherwise you would take in too much." Razz explained holding a ceramic but beautifully decorated with bright colors all over bong.

Red looked inside and frowned, "Why is there water in it?"

"Just do it then you will understand." Razz encouraged.

"Okay, but it looks so groovy!" Red proceeded to take the slightly heavy strange-shaped bottle and did what Razz instructed her. As Red took the first hit, she almost dropped the bottle when she inhaled the whole bottle-ful smoke. She was doing pretty well until the remaining smoke was exhaled, she began to cough a few times.

"You sure got a great set of lungs! But you didn't have to inhale the whole thing." Razz was chuckling. "You the chick! I dig that!"

Red was already high and began to laugh senselessly.

"Hit me!" Faith appeared, wearing only swimming top and cutoffs while Razz refilled the bowl for her.

"Faithy, Red took the whole bottle in one hit! That's so far out!" Razz was praising Red, munching on granny smith apple.

"Your first time, eh?" Faith asked.

Red couldn't stop laughing but managed to nod her response. It took five good minutes before Red would sober up. "Faith, want something to eat?"

Faith shook her head, "Already eaten before you woke up."

"You didn't even throw up when we went for swimming?" Red asked, slightly surprised.

"Nah, got a strong stomach." Faith smiled, putting her mouth on its mouthpiece and light the bowl.

"That's cool." Red said, watching Faith take a few hits.

Red felt her bus being shook and she turned around to see Jack on the other side of her bus through window. "Jack, you are killing my baby!" Red scowled playfully.

Jack walked around get closer to his childhood friend, "I wasn't... Have you seen Ashley yet? Coz everything is starting tomorrow and I don't want her to miss it. Plus the parking lot is getting really full."

"She should be here tonight at least. Where's your chick?" Red asked, wiggling her auburn eyebrows.

"My chick, you mean Buffy Summers?" Jack asked, playing along.

"You go, boy! You even know her last name! Since when did you start remembering those chicks' last names?" Red asked teasingly.

"Oh shut up, Willow! I think she's the one." Jack sat down next to the redhead. Jack is one of few that were allowed to call her Willow.

"I hope so because the last one left you so heartbroken." Willow slapped her left hand against Jack's knee.

"Yeah, I know. I am so sure she is the one. I can see it." Jack said determinedly.

"I really hope so because for one, she got a great body. I just saw her this morning." Red said without a hint of embarrassment in her voice.

"Oh you little dyke!" Jack snorted.

"Yeah, at least I am beautiful! You ought see it when you go skinny-dipping with her. She ain't shy either. Besides she ain't my type anyway."

"Ooh, I take it, you got an eye on a girl already? Who was she?" Jack probed knowingly.

"Yeah, I really dig that brunette chick. She got those beautiful but deep blue eyes I have ever seen." Red said almost dreamily.

"Far out! You really dig her! I can see it in your eyes." Jack was chuckling and added, "Besides you need to have her light your fire to calm that foul mouth of yours."

"Fuck you, Jack!" Red shoved Jack playfully and laughed senselessly again. "But you are right though." She added after sobering up from dope-induced laughter.

"Do you know her name by any chance?" Jack asked.

"I don't... yet." Red shrugged, munching on a granola bar. "I will find her and find out hew name." She added with her mouth full.

"Yeah, I hope you do." Jack put a chilled soda pop in glass bottle that he snatched from her friend's ice box in between Willow's thighs. "Drink up, I know you hate dry mouth after eating these granola bars."

"Thanks." Red murmured, twisting its top off and took a long swig.

"I am going to see if I could find her." Jack stood up and wiped his white bell-bottom pants.

"It's more likely she will find you because you are practically flashy around here!" Red snorted, looking at his friend whom was clad in nothing but white bell-bottoms.

Jack stuck out his tongue before heading off.

"Red, I couldn't help but overhear that Jack said you are a dyke. Was that true?" Faith was leaning against the door of Red's bus.

Red was looking straight at Faith, not even a blink, "Yes, I am a dyke and got a problem with that?"

Faith shook her head, "No I ain't got a problem with that, chick. Just that I think you are really groovy."

"Thank you, Faith. I think you are cool too." Red took another swig of her soda pop.

"So how long have you known?"

"Huh, have known what?" Red asked for clarification even though she already knew the answer but wanted to hear it.

"Known that you are you know..." Faith trailed off almost embarrassingly.

"A homosexual, was that the word you were looking for?" Red finished for her.

Faith couldn't trust herself to say anything but nodded.

"Well, practically all my life but probably when I was ten years old. My folks and Jack's parents knew and they are pretty supportive." Red answered.

"That's really cool, chick." Faith was smiling and stealing glances at Razz.

That didn't go unnoticed by Red, "Faith... you dig him?"

Faith jerked her head and stammered, "No... I mean, I have known him for a long while but I-"

"Take a deep breath, go on... Don't worry about that, chick. It's okay if you dig him and I got nothing against mixed relationships, in fact my best friend, Ashley, Jack's twin sister is engaged to a wonderful Black man." Red said with a genuine smile.

"Wow... you are even more groovy than I thought." Faith complimented with a wide grin that made her doe brown eyes twinkle.

"Thanks, chick. I can only take that much." Red said almost embarrassingly.

"I hope you find that girl you were looking for." Faith said, moving away from the bus towards to Razz, her old friend but new object of her affection.

The first night of Woodstock was coming underway, the place was already packed, Willow and the gang who had the lowest tickets and they got up close to the stage to watch the concert. They are all hammerin' high. The music began to blare and everyone began to dance.

Tara and Ginger were only a few feet behind them and they managed to get close to the front. They squealed when they saw Richie Havens come on the stage. When he began to sing, "Strawberry Fields Forever." Tara was already dancing, eyes closed allowing the music fill her already euphoric-induced sensitive body.

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

The images of the redhead began to flow through Tara's mind. She could see those deep emeralds penetrating into hers even it was only for a second which felt it felt like it was the lifetime. Tara began to allow her arms blend in with the soft breeze, swirling her hips.

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me.

Tara was already smiling when she thought of her objection of affection, 'The redhead was smiling radiantly under late afternoon sun, allowing Tara put the flowered crown that she made just for her. Seeing that it fit her perfectly. Tara leant forward and whispered, "You smell just like strawberries, just like the fields we are standing right now." The redhead said nothing but leant in to place a soft, whispery kiss against her lips.'

Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

'I think I am falling in love...' Tara thought, continuing to dance, oblivious to the fact that the redhead was dancing only a few yards away.

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad.
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream.
I think I know I mean a 'yes' but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree.
Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

Tara was taking in the total effect of the song and as she opened her eyes and saw a flash of red. She smiled, yet believing the courage that seemed to increase. She began to walk towards to the redhead that has been haunting her since the day she saw her naked. Not caring how crowded it was getting, she felt as if she has so much room but yet so little time to get to her. So close that she could smell her.

Strawberry fields forever.

As Red turned around intending to look up at the stage, something caught her eye, the deep blues staring at her. Red felt her lips draw into a smile hoping she wouldn't scare the girl she has been looking over. Before Tara could step closer, all of sudden a unfamiliar blonde got in front of Red and kissed her right on lips loudly. Red was laughing, apparently still under the influence. Tara never felt anything like it, was it a pang of jealousy or a fist in stomach. She immediately looked away, all the wonderful euphoric feelings disappeared replacing with something she never experienced before, betrayal.

Tara didn't see the whole scenario that fell in place right behind her back, Red was hugging her best friend, surrogate sister, Ashley. They were so close that sometimes they would kiss each other right on lips as if they are doing a handshake. "Ashley! You are crazy! You see, there was that hot chick, I mean a really hot chick..." Red trailed off, realizing what just happened. "Oh fuck! That was her! The girl I was looking for!" Red shouted. 'She was looking at me and there was something in her eyes.' Red thought.

"Willow, are you okay? What girl were you talking about?" Ashley asked, concerned.

"Oh Jesus! How did I let her slip like that?!" Willow smacked her forehead, looking for her almost frantically and spotted her fighting her way out of the crowd. "I better go now!" Red was feeling very much sober and went after her.

"You get her!" Ashley rooted for her best friend.

"Tare! Where are you going?!"

"Ginny, I am going back to the tent but please stay and enjoy it." Tara said loudly enough for her to hear.

"No I am coming with!" Ginger said.

"Please I want to be alone." Tara begged.

"Okay chick, I will check on you after all this is over. But I am really worried about you, honey. In case, the box is on the left side right under my jeans, my favorite ones." Ginger directed.

"Thanks Ginny." Tara managed to get out before more people moved in her way.

Oblivious to Tara, Red was already gaining onto her and she was too busy feeling sorry for herself that she didn't see a drunken male coming into her. "Hey chick, want party with me, my crash pad is right there."

Tara looked up at dark-haired young man who couldn't be more than mid-twenties with brown eyes, they were bloodshot, grinning down at her. Tara shook her head declining his offer.

"Oh come on, I can show you the grooviest time you ever had. I really dig you, chick." The man started touching Tara's shoulders which made Tara shudder.

"I said no!" Tara jerked his hands away.

"You know, I don't take no for answer..." He grabbed her left arm but suddenly released his grip.

Tara didn't know what happened but one moment he was gripping her arm and the next he was on the ground holding his bleeding nose. She turned her head to her right and saw the redhead hovering over him with pure anger in her eyes.

"You little jive fucker! You apologize to the lady!" The redhead hissed, threatening to hit him again.

The man was too dazed to understand what just happened and instinctively knew he shouldn't try to make the matter any more worse than it already was. He managed to get out, "I am sorry, lady. I didn't mean any disrespect." He scrambled away.

Tara was having so much difficulty taking all this in at once. First, getting the courage apparently from nowhere to get up close to the redhead. Seeing her being kissed by someone else. That guy trying to get me to his crash pad and now the redhead just protected me.

"I am sorry, I had to... but are you okay?" Red said, keeping her distance not wanting to risk to have her run off again, this time she is fully clothed.

"Yeah, I think so." Tara was struggling to keep herself not to look at the redhead but failing miserably. As the eyes locked, they gasped in unison seeing each other's souls for the very first time.

"Thank you." Tara breathed.
