"I hope you like pot roast Willow." Tara's mom said as she started bringing items to the table.

"Oh yes that's fine." Willow was still feeling a little nervous about dinner, but her fears were somewhat put to ease when Tara accepted her invitation to the dance.

Willow and Don sat at the table while Tara and her mom brought out the rest of dinner, complete with Willow's roses as the centerpiece.

"So Willow, Tara tells me you are in most of the AP classes in school." Don said trying to put the tiny girl at ease.

"Yes I am."

"You must be pretty smart then?"

"Um, not really, I think I just took all these classes at my old school."

"Where did you used to live?" Benazir asked as she sat down next to Don and Tara took her place next to Willow.

"Sunnydale California. It's a small town outside of Mountain View."

"Ahh yes tech capital of the world huh. I should have guessed." Don said and Tara threw him a scolding look.

"So you know who my dad is huh?" Willow said taking some green beans from the bowl and putting them on her plate.

"Yeah, sorry to bring it up."

Willow waved it off. "It's ok. I just don't really want kids at school to know. They tend to want to be your friend because of who your dad is. I just didn't want to get into that here."

"It's understandable." Tara said reaching over and rubbing Willow's thigh.

Willow tried to hold back a sigh at the contact, and looked over at Tara with her silent thanks.

Benazir watched the two girls interact and found herself smiling. "So Willow, have you given any thought into college."

"Well I always wanted to go to MIT. I don't really know why, I just always found myself drawn to it." Willow looked over at Tara and had a sinking feeling in her stomach. If she was at MIT where would Tara be, it was too soon to think about it, and she didn't want to, but the thought of leaving Tara after this year cut through her like a knife. She quickly tried to put it out of her mind. There was plenty of time to think about that later.

Benazir seemed to understand what was going on, even if the girls didn't. She had always had sort of a sixth sense when it came to her daughter and her daughters interaction with others.

Don completely oblivious kept the line of questioning going. "What do you think you want to major in?"

"Um...well I was thinking of engineering, or maybe something in aerospace. I haven't really decided. I mean the first year is just pre-requisites anyway right so I have some time."

"That's quite ambitious of you, I hope you can stick to it. Tara here hasn't even decided where she wants to go." Don said poking fun at his little girl.

"Hey I know I want to be a teacher, does it really matter what school I go to?"

Willow turned her head hearing the news from Tara. "You want to be a teacher?" She asked amazed.

"Yeah, kind of lame huh?"

"No I think it's awesome. I think you would make a great teacher." Willow said with sincerity, causing Tara to blush. "I hear UNC has a great teaching program." Willow added taking another bite of potato.

"Ahh my old alma mater." Benazir said. "I would love if Tara went there, plus it would keep her closer to home."

"Mom it's like a year away, don't get premature empty nest syndrome, you still have to put up with me all year."

"I know, I know." She said trying to wipe the tears that had formed in her eyes.

"That was some performance the band did at the homecoming football game." Don said swinging the conversation in a new direction.

"Thank you." Willow said.

"It was Willow's idea, she created the whole percussion piece." Tara interjected. She desperately wanted her parents to know how wonderful Willow was.

"Well not really, I mean I didn't write the music, I just manipulated it so it fit for the line." Willow tried waving off Tara's praise.

"I certainly have never seen the crowd get into anything the band is doing, so great job Willow."

This time it was Willow who blushed.

The rest of dinner went much of the same. The girls found themselves in Tara's bedroom after offering to help with the dishes and getting shooed out of the kitchen by Tara's parents.

Willow sat on the bed with her back against the wall, while Tara lay on her back with her head in Willow's lap.

"Your parents are really cool." Willow said while running her fingers through Tara's hair.

"Yeah they kind of are." Tara said not opening her eyes and enjoying Willow's touch.

"Wow just think a week from Saturday we'll be at the homecoming dance."

Tara opened her eyes to judge Willow's reaction. "Are you nervous?"

"No, not really. Maybe a little. I've just never been to a dance, with anyone before. I mean at my old school we all kind of went as a group you know. How about you?"

"I went last year with this girl Faith. She moved away last year, Buffy hooked us up, she wasn't really my type, like at all. It was fun I guess, but kind of weird. We dated for a while after that, but we weren't good for eachother" Tara said resting her head back on Willows lap. Willow continued her hand movements in Tara's hair while both girls remained silent enjoying each others company.

"You are really beautiful you know that?" Willow questioned after staring at Tara for quite some time.

"Yeah maybe on the outside."

"No." Willow said stopping her hand and gaining Tara's full attention. "Beautiful on the inside too." Willow said as Tara moved to a sitting position beside her. Willow moved her hand to Tara's heart. "You have this great big heart and you give a piece of it to everyone that you meet. People can't help but like you. You don't find that too often, but Tara you are truly beautiful inside and out."

Tara felt her heart stop and then start again, this time pounding blood through out her body. She needed to feel Willow with the utmost urgency. She literally pounced on Willow and knocked her back on the bed before descending and taking control of the redhead's mouth. Willow was surprised, but quickly caught on and moved her hands to Tara's waist and pulled the blond more fully on top of her. They toyed with each others tongues and Willow found her hands on Tara's firm ass. She thought she was in heaven as she squeezed and pulled the blond towards her. She felt the temperature rising in her body and a nice feeling settle between her legs. She pulled away before anything could escalate. Tara was glad Willow pulled away seeing as she had no intention of stopping, but they really needed to.

Willow caught her breath and looked up at Tara, her blond hair fell around Willow's face and her blue eyes looked at her with longing. "I think I should head home." Willow said wanting to do anything but that.

Tara nodded too caught up in the emotion to say anything. She moved off of Willow and helped her up from the bed. They descended the stairs hand in hand and stopped off at Benazir's office.

"Thanks for dinner Benazir, it was wonderful." Willow said making her exit.

"Anytime Willow, have a good night." She said turning in her chair.

The girls walked past the living room where Don sat reading a magazine.

"Bye Don, thanks for dinner." Willow remarked as they past by.

"Bye Willow, don't be a stranger."

Tara led Willow to the front door where Willow opened it and turned around. "Good night Darling, sleep well." Willow said bringing her hand up to run through Tara's hair. Willow was finding that was one of her favorite things to do with the blond, run her fingers through her silken hair.

Tara looked at Willow and saw love in her eyes and it nearly caused her to fall over. It was unmistakable, and she felt love mirrored in her own. "Good night Sweetie, drive safe." Tara managed to say as she leaned in for a quick good night kiss.

Tara shut the door and leaned against it sighing. She pulled herself off the door and went to her mom's office.

"Hey am I interrupting?" She asked.

"Nope, just surfing." Her mom said and turned around in her chair to give Tara her full attention. Tara sat down in the adjacent chair, but didn't say anything. "So Willow seems really nice." She said hoping to get her daughter to talk.

"Yeah she is. She's wonderful, so kind and smart, gorgeous beyond anything I ever imagined I would have. I...I think I'm in love with her." There it was; Tara finally had said it out loud. It scared her that she could feel something so quickly for someone else and desperately needed to talk about it.

Benazir had no doubt about how the two girls felt about each other, she saw as much this evening. But she was determined to play devils advocate, which was what her daughter always needed. "Gosh, that's pretty quick are you sure it isn't just some crush?"

"I know it's quick, and that's what's freaky. I mean, I've never felt this way about anyone. I mean never, not even close. I feel as though I would rather die than see her hurt, and I would do anything in the world to make her happy. My heart nearly stops when she looks at me, and when she touches me I feel like my blood is on fire."

"You sure it's not just teenage hormones, I remember being a teenager and it's a confusing time."

"I just don't feel complete without her. I go through the day, and it's just motion, like my body is just there waiting for the next time I can see her again. I don't want to freak her out though, I might lose her if she knew how into her I am."

"I kind of doubt Willow would do that. Plus I think she's pretty into you too." Benazir said caving under the pressure, she could only keep up the façade for so long.

"I hope so. I'm not ready to tell her though. I want the timing to be perfect."

"I'm sure you'll know it when it happens, and it will be great."

"So you really like her?"

"I do, I think she is wonderful." Benazir reassured her daughter.
