Tara smiled shyly and moved her hand in a half-hearted wave. "N-nice to meet you."
Willow felt her heart skip a beat and smiled, putting out her hand for Tara to shake. Tara accepted and the moment their hands touched, they each felt a bolt of electricity emanating from the other.
Startled by the power of the contact, Tara looked up from their joined hands into Willow's eyes.
Willow stared into Tara's deep blue eyes and lost herself to the beauty before her.
They were drawn out of their reverie by Buffy clearing her throat at something Anya had said. Willow quickly pulled away, as did Tara, both of them moving to opposite sides of the room in an attempt to compensate for the wayward handshake.
"What did you say, Anya?" Willow looked overly interested in what the ex-designer had to say.
Anya smiled. "I said, 'those two should get a room'." She looked really proud of herself, as if it had been an extremely funny joke.
Xander sighed. "I think it's time for her nap." He dragged Anya from the room, her protesting her lack of tiredness the entire way. Anya's voice slowly dissipated as she was pulled farther and farther from the room.
Buffy looked around. "Okay, then. Be here by seven AM."
Giles nodded and they both quickly exited, leaving Tara and Willow alone and looking around awkwardly.
