Grr Argh!

"Hey Jake, what's up?" Julie grinned as she entered the adjoining room. Before her, a tall man who she knew as Riot had donned his training kit and was popping a mouth guard in his mouth, giving him the appearance of having bright green teeth. On one of the benches she noticed a tall and obviously attractive redhead. 'Tara'll love this!' she thought.

"Hey Jules," Jakes voice burst into her thoughts and she shook her head. "I was thinking that Willow could go through some moves with you, if you're not busy?" he said cheerfully.

Julie nodded enthusiastically, "Sure, I'm working next door with Tara but she's prepped for a sparring bout, if you're up for a little rough and tumble?!" she directed the remains of the question at Willow who nodded and got to her feet.

"So you giving your girl a good workout then?!!" Jake announced, winking and leering in Julies direction. Julie rolled her eyes and followed Willow to the door. "You're so childish Jake!" she told him as she slammed the door on his laughter.

To Tara's mind, Julie had been gone hours, she taken to punishing the punch bag in her absence, its unpredictable swinging help to keep her focus on training and off of the unknown redhead from the previous night.

Behind her, the door swung open but amidst her grunts and punches, she failed to notice. Julie walked deeper into the room and didn't notice as Willow froze in the doorway, her eyes locked on the muscular form dishing out a serious punishment to the punch bag. Her long legs kicked up higher than she would have imagined, the sweat glistening on her shoulders, her perfectly defined arms protecting her face and jabbing the bag fiercely.

Turning back when she realised that Willow was no longer right behind her, Julie grinned. She had been in no doubt that Tara would instantly recognise her, but was unsure as to Willow's reaction. Watching the redhead almost salivating in the doorway only confirmed what Tara had said before she'd left the room. 'Something passed between them alright, and it's having a pretty powerful effect on one of L.A's finest." she thought.

"Tara?" Julie said aloud startling both women and causing Willow's eyes to immediately find something interesting on the floor. "This is Willow. You guys can rough it out!" she said a huge grin teasing her face and lighting up her eyes. Tara stopped beating on the punch bag and turned to regard her new sparring partner, "Hey, I'm Tarrrrrr." she said, her name being lost to random consonant sounds as she realised exactly who was standing before her.

Willow giggled, the blonde before her was stood, her mouth agape and hand extended, sweat dripping from her forehead and rolling off the end of her nose with random sounds falling from her full lips. In all her life, Willow couldn't remember anyone looking more beautiful.

Julie struggled to contain her laughter, before her the two women were stood approximately 9 feet apart and staring at each other, Willow's face adorned in a look of aroused amusement and Tara uttering something that she didn't think was a word but had a whole lot of consonants in it.

"Ladies?" Julie ventured causing both women to turn and stare at her with surprise.

"Willow, have you done much kickboxing?" Julie continued when neither woman made an effort to speak or move. Willow nodded and managed to regain some composure. Crossing to the bench on the far wall, she laid her towel down and smiled up at Julie who was searching for some suitable music. "Sorry, yes." the redhead began, "I got my purple belt a few months ago." she said, her pride obvious.

"Purple uh? Well done." Julie congratulated her. "You want to get kitted up for some sparring?" she asked Willow before returning her attention to Tara.

"Tara?" Julie grinned at her friend who's eyes had followed the redheads every movement and were currently scanning the lithe body of the woman next to her. "Tara," Julies voice dropped slightly as she crossed the training mat and waved a hand in front of the blondes face. "Can you get head gear please?" she asked slowly. Tara's eyes focused slowly on her friend and she nodded. Walking over to the cupboard in the corner of the room, she pulled out two head protectors and the gum shields she always kept in there for 'emergency use'.

Taking the deepest breath of her life, she pulled a brand new shield from the closet and crossed to Willow. "Here." she said, offering the redhead the bright pink protective shield.

"Thanks." Willow said, her voice shaking slightly as her eyes met the impossible depths of blue before her. For the briefest instant, their fingers touched and sparks of electricity passed between them.

"You ready to get sweaty?" Julie asked, apparently unaware of the moment going on before her. Two heads spun in her direction and she stepped back involuntarily. "What?" she asked as two sets of eyes bore into her.

"Sparring!" Tara stuttered when she realised what she meant.

"Oh, of course, sparring!" Willow echoed a little too loudly. "Yes, ready for sparring, we are of the ready for the sparring."

Both women slipped their head guards on and crossed to the centre of the room as Julie found some music and turned the stereo up.

As the music filled the room, Julie took up her place as referee. "Bow." she instructed and both Willow and Tara bowed before locking eyes and beginning gently bouncing on the balls of their feet.

Growin' up
You don't see the writin' on the wall
Passin' by
Movin' straight ahead you knew it all
But maybe sometime if you feel the pain
You'll find you're all alone
Everything has changed

Bouncing and dancing circles around each other, their eyes never leaving those of the other, neither Willow nor Tara wanted to take that first jab.

Instead, their eyes wandered the body of the other. Green eyes drank in the soft curves of Tara's cheek, muscular shoulders, firm breasts that bounced slightly with her movements, a stomach that, although concealed could be seen rippling beneath the tight black vest. She imagined those strong legs wrapping around her, the gentle but firms hands taking control of her, guiding her back against the wall, the soft pink lips finding her neck and kissing gently. Those blue eyes searching hers and reading her deepest desires.

Play the game
You know you can't quit until it's won
Soldier on
Only you can do what must be done
You know in some way
You're a lot like me
You're just a prisoner
And you're tryin' to break free

Tara's eyes took in as much about the woman before her as possible, her stunning, hypnotic green eyes, her smaller, slenderer frame, the small but perfect breasts that bounced happily within her sports bra. Freckles that dotted and guided her eyes over her wonderfully defined stomach. Long legs that danced their owner gracefully across the canvass.

"Someone's gotta throw a punch!" Julie announced loudly, she was beginning to feel decidedly uncomfortable. The sexual tension that was rapidly filling the room was threatening to spill into actual sex if someone didn't intervene.

As the chorus of the song thundered around the room, Tara took her cue, her right arm shooting out and missing Willow by inches.

I can see a new horizon
Underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's
Flyin' higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire

Willow responded to the sudden move with a few high kicks of her own, combined with a fleeting glance that struck Tara's head guard solidly.

The look of surprise that spread over the blondes perfect face made her grin wickedly. "So you wanna play rough then?" Tara purred, landing three well placed punches on the redheads stomach. In return, Willow landed a firm kick to her ribs.

Oooh...

Burnin' up
Don't know just how far that I can go
(Just how far I go)
Soon be home
Only just a few miles down the road
I can make it
I know I can
You broke the boy in me
But you won't break the man

Their sparring turned into more of a tournament match as each woman landed a point scoring punch or kick and had something equally as good returned to her. Julie bounced around them happily cheering and offering constructive encouragement.

I can see a new horizon
Underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's
Flyin' higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire

Willow landed a perfect combination of kicks and punches, causing Tara to stumble backwards slightly.

I can climb the highest mountain
Cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me
Burnin' in me

Seizing her chance, Willow reigned a volley of punches and kicks, her finishing blow being caught short as Tara fell, catching Willow's fist mid air and pulling her down with her. Almost in slow motion, both women fell to the mat, Tara landing heavily before Willow landed on top of her, their breasts crashing together and Willow's thigh landing heavily in between Tara's legs, causing the blonde to moan audibly.

Frozen in the moment, their eyes met, blue and green dragging the other into their depths and captivating them. Julie turned her back, crossing to the cd player in the corner and busying herself with reorganising the discs.

With their lips only inches apart, they could feel the breath of the other caressing their sweat coated cheeks.

Just once in his life
A man has his time
And my time is now
And I'm comin' alive

I can hear the music playin'
I can see the banners fly
Feel like you're back again
And hope ridin' high
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire

Suddenly the door to the training room burst open and was instantly filled with Jake and Riot. "Holy Jesus!" Jake exclaimed as he took in the vision before him. Riots mouth dropped open and he stared in embarrassed fascination.

With the unexpected exclamation ripping into the air, Willow dragged her gaze from Tara's eyes and stared at the door. Realising where she was, she rolled carefully from the blonde, both women struggling to find their breath as their hearts raced in their chests. "Red, we gotta be at work in a couple of hours." Riot announced as Willow got to her feet and stared sheepishly at the floor.

"Oh, yeah, right ok." she mumbled under her breath before crossing to the bench and collecting her towel. As she made her way to the door, she stopped in front of Tara. "Well, erm, thanks for the workout." she managed, falling over her words as she became lost once more in the ocean blue eyes. "I'll see you sometime?" she asked hopefully.

"Oh, you can count on it!" Tara replied, tipping her a wink and grinning madly.

I can see a new horizon
Underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's
Flyin' higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where my future's lyin'
St. Elmo's Fire

I can climb the highest mountain
Cross the wildest sea
I can feel St. Elmo's Fire burnin' in me

Willow grinned back and headed for the changing room leaving Tara grinning like a maniac in the training room.
